Term 3

Welcome to Term 3

Week 8: Firefighters visit

As part of our Firewise programme we had two firefighters from the East Coast Bays Station visit us at Torbay School. They talked to us about the gear that they wear.

We really liked the breathing gear. It helps the firefighters to breathe in smoke. It sounds like Darth Vada

We also got to learn about the fire truck and some of the gear they carry.
We loved being able to go inside the truck.

Week 7
Rotation of art around the world.

The children are learning about a Kenyan artist John Maina.
They have learnt about Maasai Warriors.

Week 5

What an exciting day we had when Corban Art Centre came to visit.
We learnt about the Pacific Islands cultures.
We all made a lei and then learnt how to drum and dance.

Week 4
We have learnt about the water cycle with Ms.B.

We blew bubbles to see how far they would travel.

We blew up balloons to see how powerful air is. The balloon moved as long as there was air inside it.

Week 3

Our big book this week was called The Snake Cake
We made a snake cake just like the children did in the book. We also ate it after we had made it.

Welcome to Robert our international student from China.
We hope he will enjoy learning with us for the next 4 weeks.

Week 1

Welcome to Robert our international student from China. Robert will be spending 4 weeks with us and we hope he enjoys his stay.
